Subtronics Marker Case
This project is a custom designed pencil box, modeled entirely in CAD and inspired by fanart aesthetics. The form is based on a wild, cartoonish alien creature, blending pop art, visual graphics, and playful surrealism into a functional school supply case.
The exaggerated features like the giant green eye, multiple mouths, and melting form give the box a dynamic, eye-catching presence that makes it feel like a character of its own.

Process
Character Driven From
The pencil box is shaped around a stylized alien monster with bold line work, chaotic energy, and asymmetrical design elements that make it feel alive. The large central eye, gnashing teeth, and dripping features create a sense of movement and personality.
Functional Utility
Despite its eccentric appearance, the design is user friendly. The hinged spine opens to reveal a convenient interior compartment for storing pencils, pens, and other small school supplies, while the built in handle makes it easy to carry on the go.
CAD Modeling & Visualization
The entire object was modeled and rendered in CAD, allowing for precise detailing and exploration of how playful character art can translate into physical product design. The geometric cube logo at the base adds a clean, branded touch.
Outcome
The result is a bold, character-driven pencil box that transforms a basic school supply into a playful and expressive design piece. By merging fan art aesthetics with functional product design, the project creates a unique storage solution that appeals to creativity-minded students.
The CAD modeling allowed for precise control over form and detail, successfully bringing the illustrated character to life as a tangible, usable object. This project demonstrates how imaginative visuals can be integrated into practical design, making everyday items more engaging and personal.
